eBook collection/short stories

Frozen Fever Dreams

A collection of short stories of the erotic nature. None of these tales are related to each other, and were once ideas I had for novels that just never filled out just right for that format. They're still good stories, but in bite-size. I'll be releasing them slowly, one at a time, and they will be available in eBook only (see bookshelf and coming soon tabs for updates).

Templeton

The inspiration for this story hit me when I was taking out the trash at work one day. I know that sounds totally random, but that’s sometimes how inspiration hits. Hopefully the story isn’t complete trash. This tale plays on the idea of evil doppelgängers and jins, and how they might grant wishes that do more harm than good and other such cautionary tropes. It’s also a yarn of young puppy love that’s very sweet.

Dry As a Bone

This was initially a serial I wrote for my Wattpad account years ago. I started writing serials for some of my more long-winded stories, in lieu of just a giant, lengthy novel. This way, I could go as long as I wanted with multiple characters. It was good practice for my epic fantasy. It took on a life of its own and became the five-volume, alternate history, mobster romance we have here, available in eBook only.

This is a speculative, alternate history, which technically takes place in our modern time, but with different circumstances leading up to it. Internet and social media are tightly restricted because of an ultra-conservative political party that took office after the Covid pandemic. That epidemic was followed by a controversial war against North Korea that didn’t happen on our current timeline. America won the war thanks to assistance from Russia, but the cultural landscape changed. There are other minor details that will come up as the story progresses regarding the US and the United Nations and our Russian brothers overseas. Alcohol and alcohol-use are illegal. Right-wing conservatism decides what is immoral and what isn’t. I just thought it’d be fun to do a series with a New Prohibition-style atmosphere and a third-generation crime lord experienced in swimming the tides of change.

There’s some angst in the story, but there’s also developing relationships and plenty of drama. The two main characters are complicated but inexplicably drawn to each other. One is an ice-cold killer that typically doesn’t have any emotional attachments, until he meets the private eye, that is. The other is a somewhat childish P.I. with deeply repressed sexual confusion, but he has a good heart. His kindness often gets him in trouble, especially when it comes to the alluring, Jewish crime lord.

Volume 1: His Sweet Tooth

This volume contains the first three parts of our P.I. / mafia Lord romance. The characters are introduced, some dangerous drama plays out, and Fred falls face-first into the risky underbelly of organized crime in Dallas, Texas. Garber is a disciplined, keen-minded mobster that runs his organization with an iron fist. He typically holds no emotional ties, even called icy and brutal by his prostitutes. However, when he meets the bumbling, reckless P.I. he acts completely out of character and begins pursuing him, confounding everyone around him. Could this be the one weakness the powerful crime lord has?
